Hi everyone,
I've been reading this forum for a few years now but only recently signed up....
Anyway, bit of history.
I've owned a Mk1 escorts for about 20yrs now, having bought a green mk1 escort with a pinto as a young teenager and re-shelled it a few years ago after being put off the road for a number of defects. In the time I've gone through the usual upgrades, 32/36 - 38/38 weber, then twin 40's, twin 45s. Played around with a draw through SU carb on an old T04 then moved on to fuel injection. My first injection was using a falcon EA CPI throttle body, then bought a modified toyota 2T manifold with 1GGZE supercharger from NZ. This went alright however I never quite liked the look of it so imported a sierra manifold from the UK, build a turbo manifold and added a cosworth T03. Ended up running cosworth rods pistons the T03 and an old australian built EMS DualSport until recently when the injector driver died. So now you have all that.....
The new build, and why I'm here, is a pinto with Cosworth crank, custom rods, forged pistons and a big valve head. Have a new turbo manifold inlet manifold and a waaaay to large turbo. Aiming to run e85 and see how i go.
I also purchased a EMU Ecumaster on a whim to handle the thing so hopefully I'll get some support here as there's not too much knowledge here in OZ.
Anyway, here are some pics of some cars and parts over the years and what i'm currently up to now with the white MK1. Hopefully when its done I can get on to arching the orange escort.
My trusty old MK1, wish I'd never parted it out.
When I bought the current car.
Mid build
Almost done
Registered and running
Got bored time for upgrades
Make sure it fits....
Found some big wheels 17x8.5 so had to make them fit, watts linkage, minitubs and new brakes.
And as it stands now,
I've now moved and have a shed, so hopefully things might be a bit easier to work on, although I cant complain when I see pics of guys working on their cars in the snow.
Anyway, progress might be a bit slower now as I am up to rear time, balancing work and kids, however will let you know how I get on.
I've always admired the can do attitude of people on this forum so though it was about time I'd contribute.
Can anyone help me out with an base maps for an EMU Ecumaster - pinto 2.0 OHC turbo??
Many thanks, Shaun
