| Hi everyone, im a massive fan off all the stuff that you guys are doing, lots of awesome projects, cars and inspiring people. Basically im wanting to make a 400+ HP 12v v6 motor and need to know what is best to buy for it, what should i modify in the engine also? a big and detailed list would be of great help and i shall start collecting the parts. fabrication isnt a problem for me the exhaust etc i can do that fine. Also whats the best gearbox's to be using and axles? thanks in advance for the help i hope to recieve!! Andrew | |

| A Kentcams V6T46 camshaft, aftermarket injectionsystem and a big turbo will do the trick. But it will be on the limit. Forged pistons and rods is highly recomendet to get some durability | |

| thanks! so what size injectors? and what car? 350, 400, 600? which? what psi or bar of boost? k27 is the turbo im going for and megasquirt. the camshaft is something i have already im looking for good power for a good price i know places that do the pistons and rods but im not interested in paying 1000's for them. thanks Andrew | |

| I have 440cc and if you can get hold on that size you can try out my Capri map.
14psi will give 400hp, mine gave 460 @ 18psi
We use BMW gearboxes, Ford don´t have any that can take the Ford six without living on the edge. I have a Volvo 240 rear axel, it´s not so wide and can take much before it breaks | |

what are the injectors off?
460bhp! of stock internals with just the cam changed!?!?!?
would a borg t5 work? i know you can get adaptors for them to fit the v6.
ok i shall hunt and buy one of them axles,

| oh and what about radiator, fans intercooler etc? oil cooler for turbo etc? do i need a blow off valve and a wastegate? ive got a 50mm HKS wastegate on order.

| Aftermarket injectors Lightly ported heads on my machin with 460bhp Borg warner can´t even take a cosworth on 400bhp så i would not recomend that gearbox. Yes we use Megasquirt, nice and cheap The bigger the better when it comes to radiator and intercooler. The v6 engine produce a lot of heat. Oilcooler is recomendet of you want to take it on a track day. 50mm wastegate will do. Blow off is not necesery but most people like the sound of it | |

| what car would i get the 440cc injecctors off? nice and cheap is always a bonus,
so bmw gearbox with the bellhousing chopped and the v6 bellhousing ? or get an adaptor plate? what bmw is the gearbox off i need? ok well i have an oilcooler ordered also for the turbo, so i dont actually need a blow of valve then just a nice big wastegate?
when you bought your megasquirt what packages (extras etc) did you buy with it? so i can make sure its gonna run fine.

| I don´t know, it´s always best to buy new injectors
BMW 525 or 325 early 90 with ZF is the best choice
I only use the hallsensor in the distributor on my capri but simpliest is to buy a megasquirt for TFI instead.

i understand what it is just trying to figure everything out for when i go for it,
oh and where can i find the bmw gearbox conversion?
how hard is the conversion and is there a lot to modify? what do i need for the full conversion? v6 for bellhousing and bmw gearbox, anything else?
oh the pipe you are using for your manifolds is 3.5"? what wall thickness is it? 3mm? | |

BMW gearbox conversioen is not easy, its very importent to get it straight.
Use 42mm pipes and 48mm pipes from the collectors | |

| could you give me some help with the conversion,? guide pictures etc, that would be great cause as you say i dont want to cock it up.
i've just been looking for intercoolers and they are expensive!!
do you have any tips of cheap ones which come of another car?
and roughly how much did your conversion cost you, just the engine and all the bits etc.. | |

oh that price isnt to bad, around what i was expecting,
what clutch do you use?
ive already found the camshaft and gaskets thats fine,
what size intercooler do you use?
do you use an oilcooler on your capri?
and how reliable will the engine be on the capri, is the engine likely to blow and 18 psi? do you run it at that all the time? | |

I have fitted the Capri with a large oilcooler. 18psi al the time
The engine works fine, so long as you don´t let it be to hot, if it starts to overheat the pistons take great damage. The head gaskets can also be a problem. Make sure the gaskets surfaces is really straight and use better bolts.
