I belive that the Russian fellow that have recently found their way to this site can help me with this one.
I got some emission issues that I need to get sorted in order to MOT my 24v BOB scorpio with a manual gear box, you see, ford never built a 24v cosworth with a manual box so there is no valid emission certificate for such a car. In many countries it is not a problem to get the car to pass the MOT, but in Sweden it is. And I have learned that if I had fitted the car with a manual box when I imported it, I would have got it registered with a manual box and also got this printed in the registration papers. But I didn’t do that..
So this is what is needed to pass the MOT and get the car registered with a manual box.
A certificate/paper written by ford on their company paper, where they assure that the 24v cosworth still will full fill its requirements for the 96 EEC emission standard if it is fitted with a manual box. Do you think it is possible to get such a paper from the technical department from fords head office in Russia? The thing is that Ford in Sweden doesn’t sign these kind of papers any more, they explained to me that people did so many stupid/dangerous things to their cars and wanted certificates from ford, but ford didn’t want to be responsible so that is why they now got the policy not to sign any certificates/papers.
Could some one help me to get hold of a phone number to Fords head office in Russia or the customer service? It would be much appreciated.
