daytona - Ford Fan

Hi All!

First of all, guys, thanks for all the videos uploaded on the net! I've been a big fan of You!!

About myself: 30years of age, working like an IT specialist, recently studying university -mechanical engineering. I am into Fords for more than a decade, I had owned a lot of sierras (including a 4x4 cosworth), now I own a Capri, which is completely original stuff, a Taunus Knudsen which will be a project somewhere in the future and A Sierra XR4i on which I've started working recently. The plan is to restore the bodywork, install stiff suspension, bigger brakes, change the engine from 2.8 mechanical injection (KJET) to 2.9 12v EFI. Initially the engine will be non aspirated (original cabling with EEC IV) but in the future I would like to have a turbo on it - so probably I will have a lot of questions then

Cool. Learn something new today. Was not aware that the 2.8L was injected. All the Ford 2.8L engines were carburated in America. Even the Pinto and Mustang, Ranger and BroncoII shared the same carb engine,

In Europe You can hardly find a carburated 2.8. Almost all of them came with this KJET system. I was thinking about keeping the original 2.8 plant, but it runs only with leaded fuel and the guys here have all the knowledge to the turbocharged 2.9, so that was definitely a better option. But firstly I have to sort out the rust on the body....which is just... everywhere

The Taunus looks really good!

Thanks!! Unfortunatelly it only looks good - the bodywork is all ok, but it drives like a crap - original 40 year old suspension, brakes....it is reliable, but no driving pleasure at all

Yes, thats the plan. But now the sierra project is on, Taunus is the future

Hey guys, here in Germany you can also find the 2.8i as an EFI in the first generation of Ford Scorpio. They also have Aluminium Valve Covers (great look). But these are very rare!
Your 2.8 injektion is the same as in Ford Capri from 1983 to 1986 (last Capri build in UK as an Super injektion).
And for your Taunus you can find Brake- and Suspensionparts at www.Timmsautoteile.de or www.Motomobil.de in Germany! They ship to all over Europe and they have nice prices!
