Ford Sierra Pinto 2.0 T - Poland

Hi!

My name is Kriss and I am from Poland.

My passion is Ford Sierra.

I would like to show my Sierra with 2.0 Pinto Turbo.

The engine is serial. I mounted turbo (Volvo), intercooler (Mercedes W211 2.7 CDI) and oil cooler (Fiesta 1.8T), and I changed to the injection 311ccm (Volvo 2.3T).
Stocks set to 0.75 bar but the pistons did not resist and break...

Now I would like to mount Cosworth pistons. While I have to grind the head to keep the degree of compression about 8 :1 or 8,5:1?

One-quarter mile with Escort RS2000

The pistons should work with just 0.75bar. I usually recomend 1bar as maximum on a stock engine.

If I understand the serial pistons resist to 1bar
I know that 0.7 is not much, but still break pistons ...
Perhaps through an earlier knock combustion (detonation burning) ?

After this I do not have additional controls for ignition and fuel.
The engine control computer from Sierra 2.0 IS. MAF adapted so as to be worth AFR 12-12,5-13.
EGT does not exceed 900 degrees.

Yes they manage 1bar if you have good AFR readings. I usually want 12.0-12.5. Often it´s needed to adjust the ignition somewhat, just turn the distribuator a little bit if you hear detonations

I did do this, but I had mounted manual boost control to raise the charge but then at 3000RPM at third gear was already 0.6 bar and detonation burning ...
I resigned from MBC and I set charger only with westgate.


Where do you buy the Cosworth piston rings?

I bought mine from a cosworth dealer here in sweden. But you can shop a set of rings from www.burtonpower.co.uk

Yes 2bars on stock engine. He dyno'ed 386hp on the wheels on 1.8 if I don't remember wrong

Front Brake Discs from Scorpio Cosworth 278mm Zimmermann Sport

and brake terminals from Scorpio Cosworth



Rear brakes is oryginal from Sierra with ABS + elektric braking pump. I add the computer with the installation to have the complete ABS

Unfortunately you can not buy, it`s myself handmade (made by me).
I put in the original lights lenses bi-xenon from Passat B6 + xenon Hella with light bulbs Philips 4300K and polish lampshade (glass) - incredible effect!

Hm... I changed tension spring on MAF (AFR setting), that`s all

How did you do the polish of the lampshade?? Glass is really hard...
(tried myself but didn´t success..)

It's very, very difficult... Special discs for polishing granite and and cerium oxide.
