Zozz - Ford scorpio 2.9 going to boost (please write in english)

Hy everybody! You guys are great! Big respect for anyone-s project at this forum. Excuse me to write in english but I don't speak swedish. I'm sad to I can't understand what you wrote in your projects and I only can watch the pics. and use Web translator for someinteresting parts. I follow your forum 2 years ago. And your 2.9 turbos give me an idea to put one in my scorpio. I bought this ghia in last year february. It was an automatic but the A4LD gearbox lost it's 4.-th speed and I put a T9 in it but that was broken in december. Now an MT75 is in it. I want to build this car to hold all the original extras like air conditioning and everithing else. It makes a lot of compromises during the project but I think I can make a good balance in a comfortable luxury car and a fast cruiser

I got the idea from Kryckan's white coupe 2.9T sierra
The car is really in good condition and I want to keep in it. Only the rear fenders rusted a little. At last week I fixed the rear underbody.
And thanks everybody for welcome!

Tires are on the wheels. Tomorrow they got a final polish and I put them on the car. Maybe if I had enough time I fit in the cosworth shocks and the new front tower bushes.

Thanks! Only thing that is slowing down the project is my money and my time.

The project has changed a little. I sold the turbo at great price and I bought two eatoI bought them on ebay. Iwanted to buy only one but this two was cheaper than the one I watched out So now I have got one spare which I want to sell. Here some pictures of them and from the disassembling of that I keep:

Yes I know that turbo is more efficient but I had money problems and only two way left to me :
give up the project or change it to supercharger. Maybe when I in a better position modify it to turbo later.

Hey, don't mind him. He is just jealous on us supercharger guys. It's like in the name, it's SUPER!
By the way, which model is it? Eaton M62?

Why not run with both?

Nice ! I have an M90 from 91 ford thunderbird 3.8 SC. Yours is better with the front inlet for placing. A lot of things in my mind now. I sell the other one or maybe change it for two little or one big turbo. I get megasquirt and all other things what need every project and then decide it which one I want to do. One problem I had with the supercharger: I can not place it on the left side of the engine because I keep the air condition and on the engine top I need to make a bump on the bonnet but I can't find out how it's going to look good.

Hihi, it will always look good with a charger up through the bonnet. But if you want a sleeper, you might need a turbo instead. Accually you don't need a big turbo. You can't make more than 1bar and 400hp from the original engine anyway, without having a major breakdown. My tip for you, go get a Mitsu T19 or similar turbo, or run with the M90 up through the hood and get rid of the distributor at the back of the engine to get the air through there.

The M90 pushes 1.5l air/turn, so youll get 1bar at about 6200rpm with the 2.9er at max charger/engine RPM, which is good!

Remember that you will never get as much hp as from a turbo, since the charger gets it's share of the deal! I would guess about 50hp lesser on your setup, but in exchange youll get massive NM at lower RPM.

By the way, it looks good with the charger up through the bonnet.

No no no. You cant use such a small turbo. The engine will not work well at all, why do you think we use large turbos? Even if it´s only 400hp you must have a turbo that fits. To much backpressuare is really bad for the engine and the same way with to early boost. The engine will not have the hp and will not last long!

I need some tech data help. Who knows is the sierra 4x4 front axle shafts are the same lenght with the scorpio 4x4? Because now I can buy a 2.9 V6 4x4 engine, Mt75 4x4 gearbox with front diff and driveshafts from a sierra at ice cream price and thinking about mod the scorpio into 4x4.
