now 2.9 24V BOB (Info about fit 4.0 v6 in Sierra )

Hi, i thinking to put a 4.0 V6 Cologne in my sierra.I hope to find some picture or info here because you do it.I need to know is it fit on type9 v6 gearbox.Hope help me.Thanks.

Well, it's not that big job but you will need to build new engine mounts and install the original EDIS engine management if you dont run with a after market EMS.

The type9 will fit if you get the V6 version, preferably one from a Sierra.

I have bellhousing from v6 but think to use 2.3 d gearbox.We have sierra 2,9 whit this setup and ratios is better.

Because i dont know about the automatic transmision did a need the flywheel,i will buy it from explorer.
i think to use original 4.0 v6 management ecu.Just take the hole engine and put in my car.Or maybe i dont undertand correct.

Here in Canada/America the 2.8L, 2.9L and 4.0L share the same belhousing bolt pattern.

Don't know much about the 2.6L V6

The 2.9L motor mounts should bolt to the 4.0L engine block

so i did to try.I remove the 2.0 ohc.And find the 1.8 td gearbox with v6 belhousing .We try and make a quick shift on a type 9 4 cilinder gearbox.Soon we will made it on a v6 and will post some picks.

so i still without engine. but i make front of the car opened with 120mm with opel astra f stuff(or 60mm of each part left and right,and 20 mm to front bumper)
So is hard to explain and post some pictures























and the short shif for type 9 long 28 mm so between 3-4 gear is just 80mm with standart long pipe

so i did another change on my steering.i hope is easy to understand from pictures.




















it is been cut with 15mm of each part.so this make with 30mm longer.

So i will not drive 4.0 v6 i find a 2.9 24V BOB.So now is already in car and need info about the wiring.I need to give +(power to ecu) and ground.Is more necessary.If any one have some pics will be nice.And the ecu must see gearbox is neutral position any idea .

Isn't it PATS (security system) a part of the BOB ecu? Means hard to get working, have to use key, ect from donor car..
Im not that into it but what i understand is that most people running standard ecu use one from a BOA engine together with the wiring to. Also its very common to use an after market ECU and do a custom tuning, you also most likely will see more power with that option.

Thanks, for begin will try with EECV i have key and reader from donor car.Here is very rear and not possible to find BOA wiring and ECU.And how you say will be better with after market ECU.

Hi, im moving forward.So we start to connect pin by pin.Find this white connection give power from battery,ground from battery and power after switch to ECU need to know on that blue what fuse is necessary. And some pick of my lock of steering.

so we run the engine,but when we start to make a final seting engine noise is change and sound a big trouble in left head.
