| Hello!
I want to ask what are the weak links of the OHC engine if I Turbocharge them.
I use the 205 Block from Sierra I think with 8,5:1 compression.
If I change the rods to H-rods and use APR Bolts, will the engine last longer or do I need new pistons aswell?
I try to built a high reving turbo engine and want to use a 300 Degree Cam - Burton BF30 Burton road/rally camshaft .460" lift/300deg duration: SOHC Pinto Duration 300deg. Timing figures 78/48/48/78. Inlet timing 108deg ATDC. Clearances .008"/.010"
The Turbo I use is a GT2560R Garret.
What is most important? Oil Cooling ? Turbo Pressure ? Air Cooling ?
I will use a FMIC from Audi 1.8T, pressure not more then 1Bar and a big Oil Cooler with thermostate.
Is that enough or need I a special Head Gasket, too ?

| The pistons are the weakest point, try to find cosworth pistons and rods and you will have a very strong bottom end. The headgasket is also weak, but a cosworth grupp A works fine with some 12:9 bolts
You cant build a good working turbo engine with that camshaft and that small turbo, you will have to much exhaust backpressuare. | |
