New Ford fan from Germany

Hello everybody
I just want to introduce my self. I am Michael from Germany and a big Ford Caprifan.
But at first let me say that i love your cars and the way you tune them .
Due to the fact that i am a owner of an 1984 Ford Capri 2.0l i am very interrested in Mikael's Capri.
I would like to have the same power!!!
I already bought an 2.9i engine and ordered an Megasquirt as Mikael had.
Just a question to the Gearbox.
Is there anybody who can tell me the point of measure to get the Getrag in a straight line.
It looks like a bit difficult!!!!
And wich kind of Lorry have a GT40. Iam looking for this since 6 weeks!

Hi and welcome.

I think they just use a engine block with a crank in to get it stright. Haven´t done any myself

So for me i think it will be the best to go to Netherland (I live close to the border of )and try to find a GT40.
They have huge scrapyards.

To big i would say. You can´t rev more than 7000rpm and with to big turbo this will be a problem, and the GT45 sounds like a crappy china turbo.

The clutch that i using is sachs 765 and a sintered plate with bmw splines

I just bought an KKK K27 from a Mercedes Truck. I hope that it will work just fine as yours.
At the moment i am just trying to get all the parts i need for conversion. Can you tell me the size of the intercooler? I can get an 700x300x60 . But Iam not sure if it is the right one.
Iam still learning out of the Book " Maximum Boost". But not sure if i am right!

KKK27 is a good choice, i you choose 350cc injectors i can provide a good starting map for megasquirt.

I use a 450x300x76 (core) on my capri, fits perfect

That sounds great. Do you use Bosch injectors or Delphi.
And is it the best to buy them new?

I just want to tell, the yellow Capri on pic was my old one. It was a 2.8 with 3 Weber carburators and Hiflow Exaustsystem 296 degrees Camshaft and ported Heads.
But it produces only 196hp at the wheels. It also had a complete Race suspension setup.
8 jears ago i sold it. And now i restart my old hobby. I bought an 84 Capri 2,0GT with Historical Licens, that means no problems at all with the Law. I can do what iwant with that car! And i want to do it right .

I think in this Area where i live, there is only one!
Isn't it better to use 440cc/m Injectors du to the Camshaft? I ordered the V6T46 with CF10 and VS25. That means Valvesprings etc.
I try to get the same setup as your engine Mikael.
Portet Heads, V6T46 Kentcam, and a lightend Flywheel!
I am not sure if it is a good idea to lighten the Flywheel. But i work in a steelshop, so it's easy to do .
I have a question about the Wastegate, do you only change the coilspring in that for that Boost. Here in Germany the only offer 50mm Wastegates fo maximum o.7 bar and 0.9.
And when i am right, you have got 1.1 bar in your Capri? I dont find a 60mm Wastegate!!!
Do you have a Adress in Sweden where i can buy one.

Ouch... The kkk27 will not work well with that camshaft.

440cc injectors will do and that is what i use on my capri. 50mm wastegate will do fine, a hardare spring is recomended

The kkk27 is a bit small, i would say it´s just enough for a standard 2.9

Can you tell me wich pressureregulator for Gasoline ( powerboost valve ) do you use? The original or an extern? Because i have an integrated valve on my 2.9i.
And the 2'nd question is, can i use 440ccm injectors with this system or is it too much?

Yes you can use 440cc injectors but if you are planning to use the starting mapp that you can fint here on this forum you will need to know how to tune your engine to compensate for bigger injectors

Original pressure regulator will do fine. There are two kinds of original fuel rails and regulators , both will work for much power. They originally give 3 bar of fuel pressure.

hi rimtec I live in germany too and `im a capri fan too . I have a Capri mk 3 2,3 OHC Turbo...we can meet some time i live in Reutlingen Baden Wuertenberg ... but with this mod`s i don`t think you can use that car on the road ... That`s why i left my Capri in my country -Bulgaria. Wenn du zeit hast schreib mir ... ich wede mich freuden dich kennezulernen

Is there anybody who has an mapping for the 2.9i with KKK27. Long time ago i found a mapping here but didnt find it again. Or is there anybody who can tell me where i can find it?
