Sierra Xr4i 24V

Hi All.

I've had this sierra for a few years and its gone through a few changes from the Ford spec XR4i 2.0 Dohc. The latest mod will be a turbo, that's why I looked on this forum.

Here it is over the years.

When I first got the car. A Spanish LHD




Further Mods:
Stripped out with 6 point through dash cage.
4x4 Cossie rear axle, fitted with 2wd brakes, polybushed and AVO Coilovers
XR4x4 front hubs with driveshafts removed from cv's. Tarox groved XR discs and calipers. Avo coilovers, Adjustable TCA's, Polybushed.
Eccentric rose jointed top mounts.
Saff side skirts and front bumper.

2.9 24V Cosworth BOA V6 fitted with a modded XR4x4 box converted to 2wd.

Then did some big changes to the car. One was converting to RHD

Then due to knocking out the bottom end bearings of the BOA at Donington Park race track. The Engine had to be changed. I could only find a BOB later 24V.
This was ran off the BOA ecu and loom

Got a bit sticker happy before a local Ford RS Show/track day and it went from this

Also fitted a 3" exhaust system which sounds nice



Also added the cosworth rear fin



And finally to the reason for looking on this forum. Found it hard to get enough space for twin turbos so I am going for a single GT3582 copy.
Almost easy with the BOB, the cast manifolds can be turned upside down.



Has anyone had any experience of using the Chinese GT3582 copy turbos. They look ok for low boost use but require to be balanced before use.

Nice car you got there!. The real gtx turbo is really a impressive turbo, probebly one of the best. china turbos works but don´t buy the cheapest ones
